Daphne Brown Robertson | Dwight School 1950 | obituary

We received the sad news that Daphne Brown Robertson passed away on August 27, 2022. Her obituary was published by the Daily Press on September 4, 2022:

“Daphne, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

She was born In Biltmore Forest, NC. Daphne attended Dwight-Englewood School, Mary Baldwin College and Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. She worked at Hampton Roads Academy for 25 years. Daphne was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was an altar guild volunteer. She was also a member of The Junior League of Hampton Roads and the Hampton Roads Garden Club.

Daphne was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William “Bill” Robertson; her parents; her sisters, Ellen Kelleher and Pat Hallett. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen R. Edwards (Rick); her sons, W. L. (Butch) Robertson (Ann), and C. Fuller Robertson (Diana); her 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones (Clint), Jennifer Mosby (Cary), Suzanne Jeffery (Matt), Will Robertson (Allison), and Hunter Robertson (Lauren); 10 great-grandchildren and her sister, Harriett DeLong of Savannah, Georgia.

The family appreciates all the love, care and services provided by Farmer’s Home Health Care (Mechelle, Pam, Vicki, Sheniqua) as well as Tyshanda and Debbie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Newport News, VA. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.”

Become a part of the class leadership team that works in partnership with the Alumni Relations Committee and Alumni Relations team throughout the year to promote class engagement and financial support for the School. Class Captains and Representatives (Reps) work with each other to plan milestone Reunion celebrations, share news and updates about classmates and the School, and inspire gifts to the Annual Fund.

We are looking for multiple members of each class to become a Class Captain or Rep and share the responsibilities!
