The family of Arthur Brockie notified us of his passing on May 16, 2023. One of his daughters shared this moving tribute with us:
“It’s taken me most of the day to try and wrap my head around the loss of our father and what I wanted to say. Our dad was born in 1929 and would have turned 94 in July. He was from a generation that believed in hard work, duty and service to our country. He took to heart what his father told him about being thankful for the chance to have an education in this country, and followed through on his promise to his father that he would pay for our education. I can count on one hand how many times I remember him calling in sick to work. He used to tell me that your job owes you nothing; you owe your job everything. There are so many things that he taught me that I carry forward. He loved his family especially his parents, and his brother and sisters. He didn’t want to be on this Earth without them and had a very hard time when they passed. He loved his nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren so much. He was of a different generation-––one of honor, dignity, responsibility, courage. I’m very thankful for everything that he gave me, especially my sisters, and I already miss him very much!”
